ThereGuzmania is a plant that fascinates above all for its foliage and for its flowering. Useful to keep at home because it cleans the air of pollutants.
Guzmania belongs to a genus that includes over 200 species of herbaceous, perennial, evergreen, generally epiphytic plants.
They have the characteristic of having linear leaves, which form a rosette in the center of which a cavity retains the water. The flowering produces tubular flowers whose color can vary from white to yellow. Its height does not exceed one meter.
Guzmania is also suitable for growing indoors.

Guzmania is not difficult to cultivate, however its needs must be respected, above all having correct watering (a right dose of humidity, without drowning it) and a good dose of light, but not in direct sunlight.
Exposure
It does not like direct sun but should be placed in a well-lit area. The intensity of the color of the foliage will reflect the need for light (if the light is too much, the green lightens, if it is little, on the contrary, it darkens)
Temperature
The ideal temperature ranges between 15-20°C, so the temperature of the apartments is fine. It accepts higher temperatures, but lower temperatures are not tolerated.
Guzmania requires air circulation but does not tolerate drafts.
Watering
the soil must be kept constantly moist but care must be taken not to leave water stagnating in the saucer which can cause the roots to rot.
They are plants that live in forests, with few roots, they take water from the rains and accumulate it in their leaves. Therefore, the central hollow must always be kept full of water which, however, must not be calcareous. The water should be changed twice a month to avoid putrefaction.
A good idea may also be to keep it over a saucer with water and gravel which allows you to maintain a humid environment around the plant without the roots getting soaked.
