Description

Kentia plant (Howea forsteriana) is a single-trunk palm widely used as a houseplant due to its elegant and light habit, its luxuriant foliage and its relative ease of cultivation. It is the ideal plant to bring a tropical touch into your home or office where it can reach (with a lot of patience) up to 3 meters in height.

Although it is often considered a difficult plant to take care of,Kentia does not require much care if managed properly. However, it is a plant that grows very slowly and gives few new leaves every year. Despite this, it is very popular due to its resistance and adaptation to low light conditions.

Kentia does not like direct sunlight during the seasons of strong intensity

Kentia also tolerates shady locations welleven if it does not thrive there and the production of new vegetation (already slow in itself) can be almost absent.

When the external temperatures are stable above 10°C even at night, I usually move the Kentia outside, in a shaded position: here the plant gives its best and manages to give me some new leaves.

The recommended minimum temperature for Kentia is 10°C,

The ideal temperature range during the day is between 18-25°C.

It is a plant that is not very sensitive to sudden changes in temperature, another point in its favor.

Kentia should be watered when the first 2-3 centimeters of soil are completely dry
