Description

The Clusia rosea species was born in the Caribbean Islands and belongs to the Clusiaceae family. In nature it becomes a small tree, while in a pot it does not exceed two meters in height. Its fairly large stem is full of robust branches bearing intense green and leathery oval leaves. La Clusia expresses its maximum splendor in a hydroponic version, managing to pass from earth to water without any problem.
This method is based on the use of simple water in which the roots of the plant are immersed. Over time it is recommended to add a specific fertilizer for hydroponic crops to the water.

In addition to being fascinating, Hydroponic Clusia is able to transmit a tropical and suggestive effect to the entire environment.

It loves warm, humid environments and cannot stand sudden changes in temperature: therefore be very careful when you open the windows in the coldest months of the year and move it away while protecting it from draughts. Clusia adapts easily to poorly lit areas, just ensure a temperature above 17°C throughout the year. In the warmer months of the year the leaves of your Clusia will be happy to have a misting from time to time.

Just like succulents, Clusia Idroponica does not require particular attention: just change the water every 2 weeks or so. Better to use warm, non-calcareous water and fill the pot up to the level of the roots. One mistake to avoid is overwatering a hydroponic plant by continuing to fill it with water up to the maximum level. Not only is water depleted of nutrients, but it can become dirty, airless, and full of toxic gases dissolved in it instead of oxygen. On the contrary, it is important to get the water to the minimum level and every 14 days to completely empty the vase and then fill it up again with fresh clean water

Exposure:

Clusia loves soft, filtered light. Be careful of direct sunlight which could burn the leaves. The glass also acts as a spectrum and amplifier, so yes in soft light but be careful with very strong exposures.

Watering:

Change the water every 14 days. Do not add water to the present but empty the vase and fill it with clean water until the roots are covered. It is important that there are no limescale residues; the use of rain or demineralised water is recommended.

Treatment:

Over time it is advisable to dilute a specific fertilizer for hydroponic crops in the water
