Description
Plant of tropical origin, the dracaena, also known as the "friendship log".
It has elongated, linear or lanceolate leaves, arranged in a rosette at the apex of the stems. It is a luxuriant plant which, if grown indoors, can reach approximately one meter in height, with leaves up to 45 cm long, dark green in colour, often variegated, for example with longitudinal silvery bands in the Deremensis variety.ENVIRONMENT
The dracaena is suitable for cultivation in greenhouses or in apartments, provided it is placed in a well-lit and well-humidified environment. It can also be cultivated in open air, in a sheltered location, with winter temperatures not lower than 10-12°C. The plant should never be exposed to direct sunlight and should be kept away from cold air currents. In spring and summer, water frequently to keep the soil always moist, taking care to avoid water stagnations; humidify the leaves to avoid desiccation of the apexes. Decrease during the autumn and winter period.
