Description
Also called aralia, or The Fingerplant in the Netherlands thanks to its palmate leaves, it belongs to the araliaceae family; in Italy the japonica species is very widespread, originally from Japan and Korea, even if lately some less known species are being rediscovered, and also some hybrids of fatsia japonica.
This medium-sized evergreen shrub with large, leathery, palate leaves divided into eight lobes marked by evident light veins,
perfect for indoors given its high decorative value but also suitable for outdoors thanks to its great adaptability but beware: not resistant to frost!
In spring, the plant produces thin, well-branched stems which bear some round inflorescences, made up of many small white flowers, followed by some dark, inedible fruits.
Fatsia leaves are typically dark green
